Thanksgiving
Aunt Anne hosted us for Thanksgiving before the LSU game. She always makes everything so comfortable for us. Luke got to sleep with Ben and they played so hard Luke could hardly keep his head up on the way home. We took the boys to the LSU store in the stadium the day after the game. We also made time to visit Aunt Doodie and Uncle Ronnie and Aunt Millie. Aunt Doodie showed off her latest pieces she had been sewing to Nana. We all got to hug Aunt Millie who isn't doing so well with her cancer. All in all, it was a very nice family visit.

Memorial Day Weekend with Ben
Anne, Laura & Ben came up to visit on Friday. Laura & Ben are going camping with Ben's grandpa, but we got to have a fun night together before they took off. Anne took us all out to dinner at Trejo's then we came back to our house to play in the back yard. The boys played until dark and had the best time together. Luke got muddy and they both rolled around like the little boys they are.

BR Quick Trip: Atkinson Family Reunion
We made a quick trip to Baton Rouge to attend a family reunion on Sherry's side and see Aunt Anne & family. When we got there we saw the bright pink welcome note on the front door, written by Ben for Luke. Luke was so excited to see his cousin he could hardly stand it. So cute. The boys played "Spill the Beans," a game that Nana bought for them. Nana and I went shopping while Pops went to a different store. Luke and Ben rode bikes and Ben's motorized John Deer mower. We also watched the Tigers play, of course. The boys played so hard that Luke fell asleep for the reason for the visit: Sherry's family reunion. He woke up half way through, just in time to throw around a football with Collin, Aunt Doodie's grandson. We left with Luke begging the question when we would return. Good thing the answer is "very soon."

Trip to Ben's in Baton Rouge
Luke has been begging to go to Ben's house for weeks now. Sherry and I finally took him. He and his cousin are only a few months apart and had tons of fun playing together this weekend. Luke didn't want to leave and said he would stay with his Aunt Anne if Nana and I left. This is major for Luke. I am sure we will be back very soon! Aunt Doodie also came to see us. She is the sweetest lady you could ask for. We had a small Christmas exchange, and Aunt Doodie gave Luke his birthday present early. He got two games: Candy Land and Bob the Builder Memory Game.

Zydeco Party
Luke's cousin, Layne, is a master fiddler player and has more guitars, violins, and fiddles than you can imagine. Luke's eyes lit up when he saw them lined up meticulously on the wall. Layne had a jam session with Luke & Ben. Chip caught it all on camera. I could listen to the music all night long, and can see the cajun blood running deep in Luke. He wants Santa to bring him a guitar for Christmas. I think he might just be in luck.
Ben's Birthday Party
We headed to Baton Rouge this weekend for our annual Tiger v Auburn game. Of course the Tigers prevailed the knockout winners. As far as Luke knew though, we were headed down south for Ben's birthday. The boys had a blast playing with Ben's toys, riding his tractor, and celebrating his birthday with all of his Handy Manny toys. We can't wait for next year.
